Erie County partnership adds new station, sponsors free passes for employees
Thanks to a new partnership with Erie County, Downtown Buffalo has another Reddy Bikeshare station, and thousands of employees downtown are eligible to sign up for a free bikeshare pass with discounted rates to unlock our fleet of 480 e-bikes and pedal bikes!
Last week, along with installing our two new stations in the city of Tonawanda, our Operations Team installed a new bikeshare station at the Erie County Rath Building, 95 Franklin St.
Its all part of an agreement completed earlier this Spring with Erie County and its Labor Management Health Fund to be a bikeshare station partner and sponsor free annual passes to its workforce for at least the first year. All employees who register for a free pass can also receive a free helmet from Erie County. This effort is an extension of the work GO Buffalo Niagara has been doing with Erie County in promoting clean and healthy commutes with education and commuter benefit programs. (Learn about their commuter benefits in this link.)
This partnership adds to a growing roster of employers sponsoring bikeshare passes for their employees: M&T Bank, NFTA, Milk-Bone, Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Kaleida Health BestSelf Behavioral Health, Buffalo Urban League and employers stationed within the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus.
Employees with an erie.gov email address can register for a free annual bikeshare pass by selecting “Erie County Employee Pass” on our Sobi App’s Registration menu screen. If you have an existing account with your work email and would like to switch over to the Erie County Employee Pass, please email Simon@ReddyBikeshare.com
